Hansa Group, (Diamond Motors Limited), has in its strategic plans a comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program that will step up its efforts to serve the community.

Speaking to journalists at the company’s headquarters in Dar es Salaam, Mr. Vikram Verma, Hansa Group Tanzania General Manager said his company has been working on various measures towards providing enhanced customer solutions in the transport sector and at the same time placing top priority in enhancing focus in its CSR activities.

He said that their strategy, apart from moving the company towards a prosperous and sustainable relationship with the society, will also ensure that the socio-economic aspect of the aid is reflected in the lives of beneficiaries.

“As one of the leading automotive company in the country, we acknowledge our responsibility towards contribution for social courses, a reason why we have come up with a result oriented CSR plan which will transform the lives of beneficiaries. We have undertaken several endeavors and are making significant contributions for such causes,” Mr. Verma said.

He mentioned that his company has been involved in several CSR activities in the recent past, which includes; co-sponsoring the Full Moon Walk - which was a fund raiser in aid of the Tanzanian Breast Cancer Foundation- held in June 2014.

Recently, the group Executive Director Mr. Rupin Rajani handed over a Tshs 67 million learning facility for mentally handicapped children in Kibamba Primary School in the outskirts of Dar es Salaam.

Diamond Motors Limited which recently launched the all new Mitsubishi Fuso trucks range and the Pajero Sport SUV, was also the main sponsor of the Cashew Investors Conference early this year which brought together cashew stakeholders to discuss on how Tanzania can benefit from this lucrative agricultural product.

Diamond Motors is now concentrating in supporting sports activities in the country, particularly, sports for women. The group is co-sponsoring the Tanzanian Women Hockey National Team to participate at the World League Round 1 in Nairobi next month. The event, conducted under the aegis of IHF (International Hockey Federation), is a world league event and a pre-qualifier for the Rio Olympics.

The group pledges to continue its support to such relevant social courses in the future said Mr. Verma.
